About Me
There was never a time that I did not want to become a lawyer.
I wanted to help people, and the more help someone needed, the better. Now entering my thirtieth year of practice, I still feel fortunate to have found my passion and purpose working with children, parents, elders, and pro bono clients. Some are blessed to be asset planning, while others are going through some of the most stressful days of their lives. Either way, it is the interpersonal relationship that I value most, and many of my clients have become like family to me.
I was born and raised in the Central Florida area. After graduating from Winter Park High School, I attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree with a pre-law emphasis.
During summers and breaks from college, I worked alongside my step-father and mentor as a legal assistant at a local law firm that focused on estate planning and general business matters. After graduating from Louisiana State University, I attended Mississippi College – School of Law in Jackson, Mississippi. While there, I was a member of law review and interned for the local public defender’s office as well as for one of my law school professors.
Since being admitted to the Florida Bar in 1996, I have been an associate at a local DeLand law firm and a partner at Smith & Stonestreet, P.A. I now maintain my own solo practice at Cukier Law Firm, P.A. and specialize in estate planning, probate, guardianship, juvenile, adoptions and general business law matters. I am mom to two amazing adult children and enjoy traveling, reading, listening to music, and surrounding myself with some of the best people in the world.
